The Beckville ISD Education Foundation, Inc., an independent, non-profit corporation promoting quality education in Beckville Independent School District schools was established in 2009.  It was organized exclusively for educational purposes to provide supplemental funds for educational and scientific programs or activities for the Beckville Independent School District. Specifically, the Beckville ISD Education Foundation seeks and distributes funds to support programs and initiatives to further enhance learning for public school students in the Beckville community.

The idea for an education foundation began with the District’s administration and Board of Trustees researching for several years the possibility of organizing an education foundation to provide supplemental funds to further support education in the District.  Superintendent Devin Tate presented a resolution supporting the organization of a foundation to the Beckville ISD Board of Trustees at the February 9, 2009 meeting, and the Board unanimously approved the resolution.

A group of community volunteers, dedicated to education, was invited to a meeting with the superintendent in late February 2009 to hear the need, vision and benefits of an education foundation for the students and staff in Beckville ISD.  The group agreed a foundation should be organized, and many of the individuals agreed to serve on a Steering Committee to assist with the task.  As a result, the Certificate of Formation was filed with the State, an organizational meeting of the Foundation Board was held, officers and directors were elected, bylaws were drafted, programs were developed, and application was made to the Internal Revenue Service requesting approval as a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization.  The Foundation Board is committed to raising funds to support the Foundation’s identified programs and activities.

"Your financial support of the Foundation is an investment in our children’s future.”

“The funds provided by the Foundation are supplemental and will be of great benefit to our students and staff.”
